Jetty Tennis Club – Custom WordPress Web Development & One-Pager Showcase
The Challenge:
When creating a dedicated merchandise one-page website for Jetty — the official mascot of the Junior World Tennis Series (JWTS)— the primary challenge was purely about identity and feeling. The site needed to embody everything Jetty stands for: the young, cool, and fearless spirit of kids stepping onto the tennis court, following their drive, and competing across the globe.
- Capturing Youthful Energy: Bringing the dynamic, bright, and open-minded spirit of young tennis players directly into the digital design.
- Presenting Merchandise with Style: Designing a clean, fun, and uncluttered layout that keeps the focus on Jetty and his gear.
- Overcoming Commercial Theme Bloat: Realizing that off-the-shelf commercial templates and heavy page builders carry too much fluff, slow scripts, and generic styling that would suffocate the site’s fresh, athletic vibe. And we all know that you don’t have more than 4 seconds to grab the attention of your visitors, if a big chunk of that time is wasted by loading – what’s the point?

To give Jetty Tennis Club the lightning-fast, custom experience it deserved, Arty decided to skip the standard theme setup and write a completely custom-coded build from scratch.
- Custom Lightweight Theme Build: Using WordPress’s Twenty Twenty-Four as a clean, bare-bones foundation, we stripped away all commercial bloat and unnecessary scripts.
- Hand-Coded PHP & Custom CSS: We wrote clean PHP functions and lightweight, modular CSS to craft a unique, energetic layout that loads in the blink of an eye.
- Native Gutenberg Optimization: We structured the single-page experience entirely around native block elements, making it effortless to maintain while maintaining ultra-fast performance.
- A Family Connection Behind the Code: Jetty is actually Arty’s older brother—the very first crocheted mascot created by Emma! Knowing he was building a home for his big brother, Arty applied his usual perfectionism to ensure every line of code was lean, fast, and flawless.
